Olympics Betting
Update 14

Go for the gold with Lasseters!

Women's Triple Jump (11:35pm Sunday)

An event with two clear favourites atop this year's best jumps, but also with experience ranked third and fourth in the betting. Francoise Mbango Etone is the reigning Olympic champion and has just returned from two years off to start a family. Her best leap this year is only just off the pace, and at double-figure odds, I think she's worth a play.

0.5pts Francoise Mbango Etone general at 15.0 (IASBet)

Women's Steeplechase

Hard to beat the Russian Samitova-Galkina, she looked to have a world record up her sleeve in the heat. Centrebet top price at 1.6. Too short for me, but if you like them short, you won't see many better at that price.

No bet

Women's 100m

Looks like a Jamaican benefit race. Stewart, Fraser and Simpson are very closely matched, and I think Kerron Stewart might get a little too short. Shelly-Ann Fraser is young and still improving, knocking a big chunk off her PB this year.

If there was any 6 available on her, I'd back her for 0.5pt.

Mens 10000m (00:45 Monday)

Bekele just too good here. Gerbselassie would be a great story if he won but now more of a marathon runner, I don't think he has the speed any more.

If you can get 1.8 or better for the double on Bekele and Samitova-Galkina, take it for 1pt. (1.984 Centrebet)
